Mettler-Toledo Showcases Smart Product Inspection Solutions for Food Manufacturers at Interpack 2026
Proven product inspection solutions supporting the future of smart manufacturing through advanced detection, connected data and global service
At Interpack 2026 , Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection (Hall 11 Stand A60), a global leader in precision instruments and inspection solutions, will launch new advanced inspection technologies to help food manufacturers to build smarter, more connected production environments. During the show, Mettler-Toledo will demonstrate how proven product inspection solutions, software and global service capabilities are evolving to support the future of smart manufacturing.
Building smarter manufacturing through inspection capability
As food production becomes more automated and data driven, product inspection is playing a more strategic role across the line. Under the theme “Inspect. Protect. Comply.”, Mettler-Toledo will highlight how its technologies support core inspection capabilities including physical contamination detection, integrity checks, weight control, label inspection and connected software solutions.
These capabilities help manufacturers inspect every product with confidence, protect brand reputation and profitability, and comply more easily with industry requirements, forming a strong foundation for smarter, more connected manufacturing.
NEW: Advanced metal detection to support production demands
At Interpack, Mettler-Toledo will showcase the new M50 R-Series AdvancedLine metal detectors featuring a range of new technology innovations developed to increase detection sensitivity and support food manufacturers facing growing demands around compliance, traceability, data connectivity, and line performance. Manufacturers of unpackaged and packaged, wet, dry or bulk products can see first-hand at Interpack how the M50 R-Series delivers enhanced performance, intuitive operation, more efficient testing, and advanced connectivity to support modern production environments.
NEW: Advanced x-ray inspection for complex applications
Shown for the first time is the new X56 DXD+ dual energy photon-counting x-ray system, part of the X6 Series. Designed for complex packaged applications, the system delivers enhanced detection of low-density contaminants such as plastics, rubber and wood, even in challenging product formats with varying densities or overlapping textures. Alongside contamination detection, the system supports a range of integrity checks, including completeness verification and seal inspection, helping manufacturers maintain consistent product quality while managing high throughput production.
Mettler-Toledo will also present its broader x-ray portfolio, including the X2 and X3 Series, demonstrating how scalable inspection solutions can be deployed across different production stages.
NEW: AI-driven inspection for enhanced quality control
At Interpack, Mettler-Toledo will introduce advanced AI capabilities within its x-ray inspection systems. These technologies are designed to improve inspection accuracy in complex scenarios, such as overlapping products, mixed product types and random product positioning on the line.
AI supports improved inspection reliability while reducing unnecessary product rejection, contributing to more efficient and consistent production processes.
NEW: Premium x-ray capability with Eagle by Mettler-Toledo
Mettler-Toledo has extended its European high-performance x-ray portfolio with the reintroduction of the Eagle Product Inspection product line. Featuring proprietary photon-counting technology, Eagle by Mettler-Toledo systems provide enhanced material discrimination and detection sensitivity in demanding applications, particularly in meat and poultry processing.
Visitors to the stand (A60, Hall 11) will be able to explore the capabilities of the MAXIMIZER RMI system from Eagle by Mettler-Toledo. Designed for raw poultry inspection, the x-ray system combines advanced detection with automated material handling to support both inspection performance and operational efficiency.
Precision weight control and label inspection
The C35 AdvancedLine high performance checkweigher will be demonstrated for food applications, supporting accurate weight control at high throughput. By identifying overfills and underfills in real time, the system helps manufacturers reduce product giveaway, maintain compliance with weights and measures regulations and improve overall line efficiency.
Combination inspection systems
Combination systems, including CM and CX configurations will demonstrate how manufacturers can integrate multiple inspection technologies, such as checkweighing with either metal detection or x-ray inspection, within a single solution. These systems help reduce footprint, simplify line integration and streamline quality control processes. The CV Combination system combines checkweighing with vision inspection to verify labelling accuracy, reducing the risk of mislabelling.
Additionally, manufacturers can opt for a 3 in 1 inspection solution combining checkweighing, metal detection and vision inspection. This option maximises space savings while providing a comprehensive and robust inspection solution.
Connected data with ProdX™
Smart manufacturing relies on connected, reliable data, and Mettler-Toledo will highlight how its ProdX™ data management software supports digitalisation across the production line.
Visitors to the stand will see how ProdX™ collects and records data from multiple inspection devices in real time, providing centralised visibility of inspection activities and supporting traceability, documentation and audit readiness. By reducing manual processes and improving access to production data, the software helps manufacturers strengthen compliance while improving operational control.
Lifecycle support through global service
In addition to inspection technologies, Mettler-Toledo will showcase its global service offering, supporting manufacturers throughout the full lifecycle of their equipment.
From installation and performance verification to maintenance and ongoing support, service solutions help maintain system performance, maximise uptime and support long term operational reliability in demanding production environments.
Extending inspection across diverse food applications
Beyond its flagship systems, Mettler-Toledo will also demonstrate how inspection can be tailored to different product types, packaging formats and production environments.
For packaged products, systems such as the X12 and X53 provide reliable x-ray inspection across a wide range of formats, from smaller packs to larger and more complex applications. These systems support both contamination detection and a range of integrity checks, helping manufacturers maintain consistent product quality in demanding packaged applications.
Metal detection solutions including the M31 EC and M34 GC are designed for conveyorised packaged applications, delivering stable and accurate detection performance across a variety of product types. For loose, gravity-fed unpackaged and bulk products such as grains, powders and nuts, the Profile Gravity Fall metal detection system with Automatic Test System (ATS) supports inspection earlier in the production process, helping manufacturers identify metal contamination before further value is added downstream. Visitors can also see first-hand how smart technology solutions virtually eliminate false rejects in pipeline applications by overcoming voids and bubbles in the product flow.
Together, these solutions demonstrate how product inspection can be applied at multiple critical control points across the line, supporting a more connected and efficient production approach where risks are managed earlier, processes are more consistent and overall line performance is improved.
“Food manufacturers are operating in an environment shaped by increasing complexity, higher expectations around compliance and the need for greater efficiency,” said Daniela Verhaeg, Communications Manager at Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection. “At Interpack, we are pleased to demonstrate how our proven product inspection solutions support smarter manufacturing by combining advanced detection, connected data and global service expertise. This helps our customers inspect every product with confidence, protect their operations and comply more easily with industry requirements.”
