PepsiCo India is expanding Quaker’s presence in the Indian snacking market with the introduction of Protein Ladooz and Ragi Choco Chikki Bites. The launch marks the brand’s move beyond its traditional association with breakfast oats towards convenient, locally inspired snack options. The new products combine Quaker’s oats-based positioning with familiar Indian snack formats, targeting consumers seeking convenient options that fit into their everyday routines. The launch reflects the growing interest in protein-rich and fibre-containing foods, as brands increasingly adapt their portfolios to changing consumer preferences.

Quaker Protein Ladooz features a rose and dry-fruit-inspired flavour profile, bringing together a traditional Indian sweet format and the brand’s oats-based offering. Ragi Choco Chikki Bites combine ragi, or finger millet, with chocolate, offering a contemporary take on the familiar chikki snack.

According to reports on the launch, the products are promoted as containing oats, 12% protein and high fibre. They are reportedly priced at ?10, positioning them within the affordable, impulse-purchase segment of India’s competitive packaged-snacks market.

The launch also highlights a broader strategy among food companies to localise product innovation by combining traditional Indian tastes with modern nutrition-focused messaging. By introducing products inspired by ladoo and chikki, Quaker can potentially reach consumers beyond its established breakfast audience, including younger shoppers and people looking for portable snacks.

India’s packaged-food market has seen growing competition around affordable snacking, convenient formats and products marketed around protein and fibre. Quaker’s latest offerings place the brand within this evolving category while retaining its association with oats.

The success of the new products will depend on consumer acceptance, distribution, repeat purchases and how effectively the brand communicates their nutritional attributes. The launch represents another step in Quaker’s effort to broaden its role in India’s food market, moving from a breakfast-focused brand towards a wider range of everyday snack occasions.
