Horlicks Enters the Everyday Protein Nutrition Segment

Horlicks has expanded its nutrition portfolio in India with the launch of a new protein powder aimed at consumers looking to add more protein to their everyday diets. The new product uses fermented yeast protein and provides 24 grams of protein along with 4 grams of prebiotic fibre per serving. It is being offered in chocolate, coffee and unflavoured variants. 

The product is available in single-serve sachets, with a 1 kg pack containing 28 sachets. It is being distributed through retail outlets and selected online channels across India.

The launch represents a move by Horlicks into the rapidly developing everyday protein category, extending the brand beyond its traditional malt-based nutrition products. Fermented yeast protein provides an alternative source of protein and reflects growing interest in newer protein ingredients for mainstream food and beverage applications.

For manufacturers, the development also highlights the increasing importance of convenient formats, nutritional fortification and ingredient innovation as consumers seek products that fit into busy daily routines.
