The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) along with Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) conducted the prestigious 11th CII Food Safety Awards on 18th December, 2020. 

A very proud moment for TUV India as our Pune Food Testing Laboratory was awarded the highest degree of honor “Outstanding Achievement in Food Safety” in the Food Laboratories Category, at the 11th CII Food Safety Awards which was conducted online due to the restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The jury for this assessment comprised of distinguished individuals from business and academia like NIFTEM (under Ministry of Food Processing Industry), NCD WHO Regional Office for South East Asia, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, TPM Consulting etc.

The CII Food Safety Awards assessment was conducted virtually by a team of 4 trained assessors & calibrators who worked more than 100 man-hours to evaluate the application and documented their findings in detailed feedback reports which were send to the awardees. The assessment utilizes a numerical scoring system to provide comparative values for evaluation on levels of implementation and maturity of systems. 

The team at TUV India laboratorywas assessed on their regulatory compliance, conformance to quality systems, best practices in leadership activities, learning and development, innovation, sustainability, corporate social responsibilities, digitization, employee involvement and engagement activities. The team was awarded a maturity score band of 90-95 which indicates world class standards.

The feedback received mentioned that the laboratory has exhibited exemplary leadership, technology, competitiveness and consistent quality with proper implementation of lab management systems. The assessment also commended the management for its constant efforts and strong focus on continual infrastructure development, proficiency testing, validations, sustainable activities, trainings, competency building activities and various other features to build a strong food safety culture across the organization which is carried out by highly qualified and experienced people across all levels of the organization.
